Behind the username
Hi, I’m Abishek.
A Software Engineer and Bachelor of Information Technology student based in Chitwan, Nepal. You might know me as virtualabishek.
I learn by building.
I work as a Full-Stack Developer at Astavision Infosys, taking applications from requirements through APIs, databases, frontend integration and production deployment. Working on software that people actually use has made me pay closer attention to the details between those layers.
Backend engineering is my current focus. I’m comfortable working across the stack, but I want to understand databases, operating systems, networking and backend architecture more deeply. Systems, platform and cloud engineering are directions I’m learning toward.
Linux is my daily environment.
It’s where I write code, explore tools and learn how applications run. Deploying with Docker, Nginx, Linux VPS servers and cPanel has given me practical experience beyond the editor. There is still plenty I want to understand about operating and maintaining software.
What I work with
Backend & databases: TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, NestJS, Express, PostgreSQL and MySQL. REST APIs, authentication, data modelling and application workflows.
Frontend integration: React and Next.js. Building interfaces and connecting them to the APIs and data behind an application.
Production & infrastructure: Linux, Docker, Nginx, GitHub Actions, VPS and cPanel deployment, DNS, domains, SSL, Git and GitHub.
Additional exposure: Go, Java, Python, React Native / Expo and Electron.
Education
Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT)
Tribhuvan University — Institute of Science and Technology (IoST)
2023 – Expected 2027
- Current CGPA: 3.5+/4.0 through completed semesters
- Ranked 1st in my cohort in Semesters 1–5
+2 Management — Computer Science & Mathematics
Kamana International College · 2020–2022
A notebook, too.
I write to work through what I’m learning: a database concept, an authentication flow, a Linux problem, or something outside software. Older posts reflect what I understood at the time. I’m also interested in contributing to the open-source tools I use.

What’s next
I’m currently open to backend-focused Software Engineer opportunities, including remote roles and relocation. I’m interested in work that lets me contribute to real applications while growing deeper into backend and production systems.
